Our DIY Invites and Programs

Everything about our wedding was very personal to us, and I just couldn't hand it over to a wedding coordinator. This worked because we had a small group, and because we decided that if there were any snags along the way, it would just add to the "character" of everything....

I ended up getting a little OCD about DIY stuff. It all began with our boarding pass and passport save-the-dates

Our boarding pass save-the-dates went into these tri-folded brown cardstock covers. On the front, it says "Ticket to Paradise, 'Lei' over with us in Oahu, Hawaii"

If I remember correctly, I used a template from www.ayleebits.com

Our passport invites were definitely a labor of love, because they were a pain in the butt! I started out by using a template from www.ayleebits.com, but ended up using a program at my work instead. It gave me a lot more flexibility in the design, but it also meant coming into work on weekends, which is never fun.

I'm happy with how they turned out in the end though, and my family thought I had purchased them somewhere, so that's sort of a compliment.

Inside, we had lists of activities available, a map of Oahu, a rough calendar of events, a wedding day timeline, and a big, mushy "thank you" message from the two of us.

Ceremony elements on the back

Once we saw Kahu Bruce's ceremony elements list, we decided we better create a program - none of our families had ever been to a Hawaiian ceremony!
I stuck with our travel-y theme, and created postcard-style programs. I put the program elements on the back, and a new knot I learned to tie on the top!

Vintage Hawaii map on the front

This is our favorite vintage Hawaiian postcard. Some of our family is geographically-challenged, as well, so we killed two birds with one stone (I don't think some of them even knew where they'd flown to!)
